Sheepish

In winter, when the grass is white
and you look for the green,
you do not look totally bright
distrusting what is seen.

Astonishment changes the face
into a sheepish grin
when things you knew in this same place
seem not at all akin.

You lose your face if you cannot
appear all fine and dandy.
You just ask others then “So what –
ice on a blade comes handy!”

Aus meinem Buch:

Wonderful pictures found connections to my fantasy. All kinds of contemporary themes popped up, so I made partly funny, partly serious rhymes about society, psychology, nature – and climate, of course. The poems are short so that it is no trouble to read them again, advisably one at a time, to more fully enjoy it.
