Last Christmas

Last Christmas was the same as now:
not one snowflake to see.
I keep on asking just oh how
a child could happy be.

For children indoor plays suffice
where they can sit and stare
at screens or digital device,
digest the simple fare.

Gone are the days when the snow’s pull
made children dance and run.
Now plastic toys make cupboards full
for trashy indoor fun.

Aus meinem Buch:

Wonderful pictures found connections to my fantasy. All kinds of contemporary themes popped up, so I made partly funny, partly serious rhymes about society, psychology, nature – and climate, of course. The poems are short so that it is no trouble to read them again, advisably one at a time, to more fully enjoy it.
