Decorations

To please the eye we decorate,
we colour and construct.
In some cases we propagate
in others we deduct.

But here the function is reversed:
water is in the boat
with waterflowers interspersed,
which strikes a friendly note.

Quite often now we find a thing
whose use has lost its shine
made up by thorough colouring
and different design.
